In Loving Memory of Nelda Brown

Nelda Brown has been a part of Begin Anew since 1997 when she first started volunteering. She served as Board Chair for a number of years. The way that she loved and served others will continue to impact generations, and her legacy will live on.

We are grateful we were able to honor Nelda last year with a tribute to her volunteer work (you can watch that video below). Our hearts are saddened by this loss but look forward to celebrating with her again one day!

Tribute to Nelda Brown

Begin Anew recognizes Nelda Brown and her lifetime of service. Becky Sumrall and Bill Phillips pay tribute to Nelda in this video with stories of how they met and why they admire her. Becky is the former Executive Director of Begin Anew and Bill is husband of the late Candy Phillips, co-founder of Begin Anew. Nelda was one of the members of the group that started Begin Anew. She served as board chair (2002-2003) and also as chair of the Fundraising Committee (2013-2014).
